In this interview with Total Guitar, Andrew Stockdale mentioned that when they were recording, and perhaps after, the first EP, he used a Russian Big Muff Pi along with an assortment of other amplifiers and a 70's SG electric guitar.

Interviewed by Total Guitar, Andrew Stockdale talks about the Micro Synth that he used in such songs as Apple Tree and Joker:

“We’d hook up the vintage Micro Synthesizers, back from when they used to be massive, like two squared feet, colourful pedals. We daisy-chained about three on some songs! We used a phaser on the intro for Joker; I think people should be able to pick that one up pretty easily."
