Strat is King
This is an Old Mex, built in between 95-2000, one of the better quality ones. had a new refret and action is sweet, and fitted with custom shop 69's along with a roller nut, modern bridge, and schallar locking tuners.
Single coil heaven, everytime i play this, makes me wonder why i bought other guitars

Torn between Boost, OD and magic
This can be a normal boost, an OD, or a bit of both, kinda like everything you heard about the old Tube Screamers and Boss OD-1, but more reliable and cheaper. This will give a nice thickening low end boost, and get rid of any tinny sound you hear, and break up your amp to clean/blues territory, and the treble control just add magic if you find the sweetspot, i can no longer play any clean amp wiuthout turning this on

Definition of Pro Home
great build, great features, best physical preamps of the whole "home studio recording bunch", UAD plugins are heaven sent, the ones bundled are above average, but the ones you buy are unique and one of kind, they are expensive though, but the ease of using this and recording, mixing is unprecedented.
Never buy the single core though, either this or the quad, as some of the best plugins are heavy on the DSP, and sometimes you will only be able to use two only at a time, which in most cases will be pre-amp and amp model, but combined with a good DAW, you can add whatever you need in there, and share the load between your PC CPU and the Apollo DSP, which works on so many levels, to give studio quality recording and absolutely stunning tones (marshal blues breaker 1962 is the best digital emulation of a tube amp i have heard. period)

Best OD
This really does capture the Andy Timmons sound coming out of his Lonestar, I use this with a Fender vintage amp, and a fender emulator, and probably this is the best high gain OD out there, the "AIR" control is an answer to any overly muddy, overly bright amp/pedal problem you ever had before, you can add or drop those very high frequencies without having to change your overall tone, which is always a pain. very easy to reach the many sweetspots this pedal can provide

Monstrous tone.
Other than being a simple beauty, the build on this one is great, and it sounds phenomenal, but you have to find the right amp or setup to play this, as the standard tuning for this baritone lies between that of a guitar and a bass, which is the point of this guitar, but amps that get muddy with bassy guitars are not recommended with this, p90's are sweet as ever, and pushing the gain with them feels natural and very balanced.

Hi ayman, what amps would you suggest as a starting point for this guitar. I have just bought one of these beauties and suggestions about which direction to look in finding an amp to suit would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
a Good starting point would be digital modelling or analog amp simulation, as some amps will get pretty bassy and muddy, for example my super rev with this on the neck gets really muddy and trembles the whole house, you really have to spend sometime adjusting your settings. I bought the egnater tweaker because it is a great amp, and i've see a couple of vids that accomodate this guitar nicely and bring out it's sound.

Awesome boost unit
This is a transparent awesome boost unit, very cheap, around 40 bucks, and great build quality, will give you what you need depending where you wanna place it in your signal chain, i prefer it after everything and before my amp, gives a clear transparent volume bump to make lead work shine

Great Pickup, but not as "single-coily" as expected
This is a great pickup, eliminates hum, close to authentic single coild sound, but that is my main prob with it, it is just close, whenever i pickup my other strat with custom shop 69 pups, i spend hours on it before going back to this one, but all in all, the sound it has is great regardless f preference and gains sound very sweet on this one, it is a perfect combination with the tone zone S in the bridge, but still, every time i switch to this pickup, i miss my true SC.

Hands Down Best Strings.
Regular D'addarios suck. This is the best. A bending haven. 2 steps, two and a half steps up or more, these are a beast. As the packaging says. PLAY FEARLESSLY

Heavy for 500mA
Really heavy unit, only 500mAm unfortunately i did not know that at the time of purchase or i wouldn't have bought this, but i use it to power a smaller pedal board, though it adds a lot of weight to it, but it does the job. really cheap as well

Cheap and reliable
Cheap, reliable, 10 outputs, 2000 mA, powers my full Pedalboard, which has 11 or 12 pedals seamlessly, good electrical wiring, and full on accessories. dirt cheap.

a great emulator
This is a great AMP emulator. Gives an awesome Fender Amp style emulation, and with the drive nd controls, you can dial any tone. I use this for live gigs in tight stages, and i always get asked how am i getting such a full round tone connected direct to the PA. Extremely cheap and useful.

Punchy OD
This is a Fulltone OCD copy, sounds the same, but a tiny bit muddier, controls are a bit tricky, with tone and the FAT switch, but gets a heavy drive tone on it's tone, and great for the price. Recommended with a good amp that can take bassy, fat pedals without getting muddy.

I'm not sure how Joyo can compete in the OCD knockoff market now that EHX has the OD Glove which has the OCD's clarity but what I would consider to be an improved oicing.... and EHX's is soooooo cheap

Joyo is just copying circuitries, I dunno how that ethically falls with the guitar world, but every manufacturer did that, but there was no internet back then to point things out.
But i mean everything the copy is almost identical to the real deal. with 20-30 USD new price tag, and it's a solid construction, controls are a bit tricky for all their stuff, but once you find a sweet spot, it's really hard to beat.

Smooth and fat
A smooth, fat overdrive, with simple setup, and a lot of options. My favourite is the standard SL setup, i have another one set for Super Bass mode, which i use for lower gain rhythm n leads.
I use this through emulation or with my Super Reverb, and really takes my drive tone to another level.

I saw a guy in a abr who had one of these on his board and his load tone sounded surprisingly like my old plexis. Only WAY quieter.
278
With the Super Rev, it sounds like a Plexi, with an indescribable harmonic distinction, and when I clean up with the volume knob, the fender-y character takes over, but still with a mean character, with a bit of Compression, delay and never, it's outwardly, I am having some issues with my recording interface, or i would have put up a nice clip. soon hoepfully.

Pretty Versatile, light, and useful
This is a very good amp head, it has three channels, and weighs like 5-6 KG, which is great. All channels sound like they are intended to, and effects loop works great, along with Re-amping
My only (two) gripes with this, is the cab simulation, and the build quality, the amp itself feels solid, but the knobs are kinda plasticky, the foot switch (Lead button) gave in after a few plays at home, which was a surprise, because i have a some cheap pedals that have been thrown around quite a bit and no problem what so ever. Although this is not the case for the rest of the switches, so might be a defective foot switch unit or just bad luck.
Cab simulation could have been better, it is a bit on the thin fuzzy side, the amp sounds great with an actual cab, but as far as simulation goes, It has nothing to offer more than the pedals and sims that are dirt cheap and sound great.

Nice cheap good quality pedal
Wouldn't say this is iconic, although it is, it has a nice warm overdriven tone for leads, but i always needed to setup controls in some kind of way, and the controls aren't very price, but it does the job,
my problem with it is it is hard to get a good overdriven tone for lead and rhythm together; when playing rhythm, especially using full or open chords, this pedal sounds a bit on the muddy side. but for leads, you can always hear a saurian-ish tone to it.
41016
that's true even of an old amp turned to 10 like a plexi or ac30.... what works great for lead is not always ideal for rhythm and vice versa, even if you work your guitar's volume controls. There's always a balancing act trying to get a couple different tones on stage without resorting to something excessive like a pedalboard with 3 or 4 dirtboxes or a mesa triple rec. I used to use a Fender and Marshall plus a fuzz for solos.... excessive and a total pain before I had a roadie and tech.

a BEAST!
I use this with a Fender Vintage Super Reverb Amp, The distortion tone is phenomenal; it is a full thick tone, with good compression, and options to switch to a harsher metal sound with the brutal switch.
With tons of amounts of again, the controls are endless, especially with the boost function, and the boost contour knob, you can capture a nice overdriven sound with gain set to lower values, and you can bump it up with the boost switch, and control how fuzzy/harsh/distorted you can get with the boost control.
I just love this and never imagined a pedal would make a clean amp sound like that without delving much into controls and settings, especially a vintage amp. Recommended

Fat and mellow for bridge
I got this on the bridge of my Japanese Strat, and it sounds beautiful. takes out the sharp-y highs and rolls them back, and sound huge with high gains.

Great, High end, CHEAP Ribbon mic
A really cheap ribbon mic,i bought this to have better low end on vocals and instruments, as well to round off that sharp high end i get from the sm57, and this is done beautifully and flawlessly with this mic, anyone spending thousands on ribbon miss without at least trying this is throwing away their money in my opinion
278
Good interface, lots of features and good compatibility
This is a great interface, works with everything, and has many features, my only problem is the preamp, when used for mic's it is not as good as i would wanted to be, very useable and through software becomes very pro, but if mics are used a lot in your recording then i suggest getting a specialised, more decent preamp

Simple. Tons of features. Perfect
This is very simple, not heavy on the computer, and very versatile and easy to use and learn. My preferred DAW
