Never really got a chance to play it
This was given to me as a gift from my neighbor who was moving out of state. Mine was a 2001 model with a maple neck though; little more rare at this point in time. He had bought it almost 20 years ago, and only played it a couple times. He didn't want it anymore, and was originally going to sell it in his garage sale. However he saw me drooling over it and he just said "it's yours; I know you'll give it a good home." I had every intention of doing so; and I had it for about eight months. It needed some work though, and I had just bought a house; so I couldn't afford to get the repairs done. Then things got a little rough financially, and i unfortunately had to sell it in order to make my mortgage payments. Broke my heart. I hope it went to a good home.

90's mexican made stratocasters are the bomb!
They don't make em like these any more. The finish is amazing, the tuners actually tune, and it plays like a dream. Only downside is "maybe" the 500k pots, that make it screech a little bit more. To bad these are almost impossible to find for a normal price here in the Netherlands. Used to find these everywhere for about 250€.

If I could marry a guitar...
She's beautiful, she's perfect... I didn't say a name but she just popped into your head, didn't she? She being the Fender Mexican Stratocaster. This is my go to guitar. It's pretty sounding, pretty looking, and pretty feeling. And they're typically fairly cheap. The bridge is one of the "weaker" points, but swap that out and you're playing a great guitar for a medium level budget.

Customized Strat with Seymour Duncan Pickups and Rosewood Neck
Probably could have just put "Fender Stratocaster" but only one person has that listed, so specifics abound! Mine has a rosewood neck, 21 frets, and a routed out neck pickup pocket to fit my seymour duncan '59 pickup (there's a Seymour Duncan custom in the bridge, no idea what pickup it is specifically, but it came in a set with the '59 with the label "Custom", and it sounds hella good). Her name is "Cadence", and she's usually my main Standard tuning guitar.

Beautiful guitar, beautiful color, beautiful name :) I can see how this is a great go-to guitar. Have any clips or recordings where we could hear her in action?

Strat is King
This is an Old Mex, built in between 95-2000, one of the better quality ones. had a new refret and action is sweet, and fitted with custom shop 69's along with a roller nut, modern bridge, and schallar locking tuners.
Single coil heaven, everytime i play this, makes me wonder why i bought other guitars

love this thing
great great great guitar. once I locked my bridge I could almost do anything with it. if you want an allround guitar this is what you need. you can play blues jazz and a lot more with this. using 1 pickup gives you a thing sound which is great for soloing. using 2 pickups gives you a sort of humbucking effect with a thicker sound

"I use an American Strat, a Strat Elite from ’83, several Mexican Strats from the 80’s and 90’s... just loads and loads of guitars."
"I used a Mexican Red Fender Strat with a maple neck that has a boost built in, called a Powerhouse Stratocaster, I found this guitar in Colorado on tour with Grand Funk. Played it through a Fender Vibro-king amp that was at George's Shut Up And Play studio. No pedals, just the bass pickup of the red stratocaster and a lot of finger plucking! We were very happy with the results and the song is finally hitting the high mark that I am striving for."
In the live performance video "Rata Blanca - La leyenda del hada y el mago" from the "Obras 2003" DVD, Walter Giardino is seen playing a Fender Stratocaster Mexican 70s Reissue with scalloped frets, likely equipped with DiMarzio HS3 (bridge) and HS4 (neck) pickups.

The Fender Stratocaster is Iliev's instrument of choice both in the studio and on stage. He owns a 2006 Mexican sunburst 60th anniversary with a rosewood fret board. Inspired by guitarists such as Albert Hammond Jr. and Alex Turner, Iliev enjoys the legendary stratocaster tone.
