This is a transparent awesome boost unit, very cheap, around 40 bucks, and great build quality, will give you what you need depending where you wanna place it in your signal chain, i prefer it after everything and before my amp, gives a clear transparent volume bump to make lead work shine
This is a great pickup, eliminates hum, close to authentic single coild sound, but that is my main prob with it, it is just close, whenever i pickup my other strat with custom shop 69 pups, i spend hours on it before going back to this one, but all in all, the sound it has is great regardless f preference and gains sound very sweet on this one, it is a perfect combination with the tone zone S in the bridge, but still, every time i switch to this pickup, i miss my true SC.
Other than being a simple beauty, the build on this one is great, and it sounds phenomenal, but you have to find the right amp or setup to play this, as the standard tuning for this baritone lies between that of a guitar and a bass, which is the point of this guitar, but amps that get muddy with bassy guitars are not recommended with this, p90's are sweet as ever, and pushing the gain with them feels natural and very balanced.
This is a great AMP emulator. Gives an awesome Fender Amp style emulation, and with the drive nd controls, you can dial any tone. I use this for live gigs in tight stages, and i always get asked how am i getting such a full round tone connected direct to the PA. Extremely cheap and useful.
great build, great features, best physical preamps of the whole "home studio recording bunch", UAD plugins are heaven sent, the ones bundled are above average, but the ones you buy are unique and one of kind, they are expensive though, but the ease of using this and recording, mixing is unprecedented. Never buy the single core though, either this or the quad, as some of the best plugins are heavy on the DSP, and sometimes you will only be able to use two only at a time, which in most cases will be pre-amp and amp model, but combined with a good DAW, you can add whatever you need in there, and share the load between your PC CPU and the Apollo DSP, which works on so many levels, to give studio quality recording and absolutely stunning tones (marshal blues breaker 1962 is the best digital emulation of a tube amp i have heard. period)
This really does capture the Andy Timmons sound coming out of his Lonestar, I use this with a Fender vintage amp, and a fender emulator, and probably this is the best high gain OD out there, the "AIR" control is an answer to any overly muddy, overly bright amp/pedal problem you ever had before, you can add or drop those very high frequencies without having to change your overall tone, which is always a pain. very easy to reach the many sweetspots this pedal can provide
This can be a normal boost, an OD, or a bit of both, kinda like everything you heard about the old Tube Screamers and Boss OD-1, but more reliable and cheaper. This will give a nice thickening low end boost, and get rid of any tinny sound you hear, and break up your amp to clean/blues territory, and the treble control just add magic if you find the sweetspot, i can no longer play any clean amp wiuthout turning this on
Regular D'addarios suck. This is the best. A bending haven. 2 steps, two and a half steps up or more, these are a beast. As the packaging says. PLAY FEARLESSLY
This is a very good amp head, it has three channels, and weighs like 5-6 KG, which is great. All channels sound like they are intended to, and effects loop works great, along with Re-amping My only (two) gripes with this, is the cab simulation, and the build quality, the amp itself feels solid, but the knobs are kinda plasticky, the foot switch (Lead button) gave in after a few plays at home, which was a surprise, because i have a some cheap pedals that have been thrown around quite a bit and no problem what so ever. Although this is not the case for the rest of the switches, so might be a defective foot switch unit or just bad luck. Cab simulation could have been better, it is a bit on the thin fuzzy side, the amp sounds great with an actual cab, but as far as simulation goes, It has nothing to offer more than the pedals and sims that are dirt cheap and sound great.
I use this with a Fender Vintage Super Reverb Amp, The distortion tone is phenomenal; it is a full thick tone, with good compression, and options to switch to a harsher metal sound with the brutal switch. With tons of amounts of again, the controls are endless, especially with the boost function, and the boost contour knob, you can capture a nice overdriven sound with gain set to lower values, and you can bump it up with the boost switch, and control how fuzzy/harsh/distorted you can get with the boost control. I just love this and never imagined a pedal would make a clean amp sound like that without delving much into controls and settings, especially a vintage amp. Recommended
A smooth, fat overdrive, with simple setup, and a lot of options. My favourite is the standard SL setup, i have another one set for Super Bass mode, which i use for lower gain rhythm n leads. I use this through emulation or with my Super Reverb, and really takes my drive tone to another level.
I got this on the bridge of my Japanese Strat, and it sounds beautiful. takes out the sharp-y highs and rolls them back, and sound huge with high gains.
This is a unique MIJ Fender start guitar, built in 1987. The neck is super slick, once piece maple fret board, i think the body is basswood, but i am not sure, but this guitar is heaver than any guitar i have carried, it is even heavier than some fender basses, i do not know why but feels sturdy and better to hold than light guitars, It has 22 frets, floyd rose style locking nut and a Schaller spider Made in USA locking non floating tremolo, the guitar is always in tune, and i find it better than any Floyd I used, great craftsmanship. The original Japanese pickups sound better and fuller than any American or Mexican pickups, i wanted to get fat 50's or custom shop 69's on my Mex strat, but once i used these i did not find any need to, i am sad to say the bridge pickup was removed when i bought it, with a DImarzio fast track 1 installed, but i changed that for a Dimarzio Tone zone, which is the closer i could find to match these pups, and they sound really col together. whether used in single coil or hum bucking. I always wanted and heard myths about Japanese Fenders being the best, and after owning an older mex for around 15 years and playing countless american and Mexican Fenders, this tops any of them, in terms of tone, feel and playability. The action can get really low, and the guitar plays like a dream, I feel that the components that have been used in the making of this are top notch, and are not as the commercial ones used it today's guitars, it is hard to find a Fender of that build and year that is kept in clean and good shape, fortunately mine was spotless, and the owner almost never played it.
