Nordic Audio Labs is a boutique microphone manufacturer based in Karperö, Finland, founded by head designer and CEO Martin Kantola. The company grew out of roughly three decades of Kantola's personal microphone-building work, inspired by his 1953 Neumann U47 and the voicing of classic tube microphones. What began as a one-person operation expanded into a small family-run team, and in 2019 Kantola developed an in-house capsule design that underpins much of the current lineup.

The brand's microphones are hand-built in Finland in limited numbers and are aimed at studio recording of vocals and acoustic instruments. Notable models include the NU-47, a large-diaphragm tube condenser voiced in the spirit of vintage U47s; the NU-100K, which pairs an aluminum diaphragm with a design intended to combine ribbon-like smoothness with extended detail; the NU-24K condenser; and the SWE#1, a square-capsule microphone developed in 2009 in collaboration with engineer Bruce Swedien. A newer addition to the range is the VÄRI microphone.

Nordic Audio Labs occupies a niche at the high end of the boutique condenser market, distributed through specialist pro-audio retailers such as KMR Audio and Retrosonic Pro Audio. Swedien, who worked extensively with Kantola, publicly referred to him as a "microphone guru," and the mics have circulated among mix and tracking engineers interested in Neumann-inspired alternatives.
