mkn_upa reviewed JMI Vox AC30/6 Normal

The AC 30 is my first real guitar amp... I used and abused it for 25 years; it amplified everything: guitars, basses, keyboards, electric pianos, and even a computer for playing music at parties... BUT, for the past few years (in France at least), people's tolerance for volume has decreased significantly... And the AC30 reaches its full potential at a volume that's no longer acceptable in bars and small venues... I sold it with regret and bought its little brother, the AC15, which also sometimes gives me volume problems... Perhaps people don't like Garage Punk Rock'n'Roll anymore??? Or have they damaged their hearing with their smartphones and MP3 music??

I gave it to a friend who uses it better than I do... the sounds are excellent, but it's impossible to find them again the next time you turn it on. A good tool for the studio, but unmanageable live... except for experimental/improvised music.

My first Multitrack recorder I learn to record music with that machine.... I've since switched to digital for practical reasons. But I'm nostalgic for that old companion I gave to a young man who wanted to go back to full analog... ( he'll be 25 in 2026). I felt I had to give it to him...

mkn_upa reviewed British Pedal Company Special Edition Britsound Fuzz
3 months ago
I bought the pedal because the price had been reduced by two-thirds... Well, it's a good fuzz, but very shrill... I don't hate it, but it limits its use... The tone control seems to be malfunctioning.... And since then, I've been hearing strange rumors about the British Pedal Company, with stories of fake germanium transistors or poor quality... Anyway, I love the big box, so I'll keep the pedal anyway... Its punchy sound makes it a good fit in a dense mix.
