Description
The EMG Geezer Butler Signature P Bass Pickup Set is a testament to a legendary collaboration between EMG Pickups and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bass player, Geezer Butler. This set is all about recapturing the classic bass tone that defined Black Sabbath's early days, with a vintage-style passive P & PJ design that carries a few modern enhancements.
The pickup set uses Alnico 5 pole pieces and custom-wound coils, delivering the right amount of punch and grit for that unmistakable Geezer Butler bass tone. The result is a deep, tight low end that echoes the sounds of "Iron Man," "War Pigs," and "Paranoid." The J (PJ set) is equipped with two custom-wound split-coils, eliminating the noise and hum usually associated with early '70s bass pickups and allowing for more power and volume. The balance achieved between the P & J makes this set truly stand out.
In Geezer Butler's own words, "I never felt comfortable giving my name to any other pickups, but this time these have blown me away."
