Michael Kelly DragonFly basses are visually stunning. The fretboard is ornate (almost ostentatious), the headstock is elegant, the bridge is strong and does not require those stupid pins. Mine even came with a beautiful tween case. Seriously, this instrument is also a work of art.
BUT... it's not perfect. My main complaint is the strap-pin placement near the neck is stupid (it's under the far side, making the bass hang very unnaturally). And then they made it WORSE by integrating the 1/4" input jack with the back strap-pin, meaning you can't install any straplock system on this guitar. Absolutely idiotic. Seriously it is almost a deal-breaker. If it wasn't so damn beautiful!!
It sounds amazing, and has very good playability. Plugging it in sounds great too. My only gripe is that I wish there was a cutout for your right arm to rest while playing. It seems to me that most acoustic basses should have this because when playing fingerstyle you can start to lose circulation if there is no cutout.
