Description
1970's era Pearl COB Custom Deluxe multi-perpose snare drum, made in Japan. 10 lug, chrome over brass with a TAMA Diecast hoop on the top. The snare Stewart Copeland snare drum he used in the early days after the Tama King Beat on the Police albums. Good overall condition, some minor rust on rims that should easily clean off. Some scratches and wear on the shell. The overall functionality is very good, and it's a fantastic sounding snare drum. The original internal muffler is still intact, and works perfectly. The parallel (super-sensitive style) strainer system is all original and functional. The snares look to be original as well, and are straight and true. This drum was certainly played, and doesn't seem at all abused, but it shows it's age for sure. Weighs in on the scale at 11 lbs, 15.7 ounces. Has that elusive "crack" you get with a brass shelled snare drum. With the internal tone control, you can reduce the ring significantly. A great reasonably priced value snare drum. Doesn't have quite the cachet that the Supra or Black beauty does, but does have an impressive pedigree all on it's own.
