Tiny utility, super userful

An excellent freebie from Rogue Amoeba. I'm often forgetting to switch the audio output to my monitors instead of the Mac's built-in speakers, and SoundSource makes it really quick to check that everything is setup correctly without having to dive into the Mac system settings (which always seem to take forever to load). SoundSource also redirects system sounds & alerts to the built-in Mac speaker instead of my studio monitors, so I'm not getting blown away by some calendar alert or email notification that I forgot to turn off while working. Or you can send direct them to your monitors, but at a low volume (separate from other playback volume). An essential freebie if you own their other products (Airfoil, Audio Hijack), or totally worth the $10 purchase otherwise.
