C128 Review: A modern and "pretty" tone with average volume. | Takamine | Acoustic Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Takamine C-128 emerges as a hidden gem for classical guitarists, offering impressive sound quality and playability at a remarkably low price. Built in the late '80s with solid woods, it impresses with a rich tone and strong bass, perfect for various styles, from Renaissance tunes to modern pieces. However, it may require some adjustments for optimal action, which could be a drawback for less experienced players. While not flawless, its durability and craftsmanship make it a standout option in the student market. Overall, if you can find one in good condition, it's a steal that delivers exceptional value.

1976 all laminate monster!

Made the same year I was born (1976), this is my main axe. I have a KNA NG-1 pickup onboard and run the works through a Fender Twin Reverb. I use normal tension strings and usually won't change the strings until at least a year. Heavenly rig.
