TAL - Sampler | HONEST Review (2022) - Producer Sphere

producersphere.com

TAL-Sampler is a vintage-inspired VST plugin that successfully captures the essence of classic sampling. Praised for its intuitive interface and unique resampling feature, it offers a nostalgic sound experience that stands out in a crowded market. While its four-layer limit might not cater to everyone, it excels in creating authentic vintage sounds with its DAC emulation. Perfect for producers seeking retro vibes, but might not satisfy those needing extensive modern features. At $60, it's a compelling choice for vintage sound aficionados.

TAL-Sampler REVIEW | Bedroom Producers Blog

bedroomproducersblog.com

TAL-Sampler excels in delivering vintage crunch, perfect for gritty hip-hop and drum & bass. While its modulation is limited to the whole program, its sampler models are highly tweakable, offering complex interactions. The built-in time-stretching and analog-modeled filters add rich texture. Despite the lack of individual keygroup modulation and a high-pass filter, its sound quality and simplicity make it a standout choice. Ideal for expressive use rather than complex multi-sampling.

wanna emulate an emualtor?

Being a huge Depeche mode fan I got this plugin because it has the bit-reduction on the output to simulate the emulator II and Akai s60. I trusted TAL tog et the sound right at the output. I also liked that it could play soundfonts and that the rest of the features and the keyboard mapping looked more intuitive than Kontakt (which is a time consuming whore). I really wanted to replace my standalone soundfont players and image line Directwave. This is great being able to layer my own samples with soundfonts. I picked up an extensive collection of Emualtor II and Emax liabraries converted to soundfont so they have the AD conversion sound of the emu gear and with this guy I am simulating the D to A sound and I can do those DM tones I love. But I also enjoy the Akai mode and I certainly love layering my own percussive samples up with soundfonts and stuff. This guy ahs the great TAL fitlers and ncie envelopes and just generally kills it. Its a very retro sampler plugin but tis so much easier to sue than the old hardware with all of the menus and buttons. This is a few pages of easy to follow GUI with a lot of graphical representations to help you along.... and some actual knobs to boot! Well worth the pittance it costs.

A true "character" sampler

Most modern sampler's out there pride themselves on providing a clean audio path for the sounds coming in and going out of them. Togu Audio Line are presenting something completely different here. Emulating the analogue conversion processes of several vintage sampler models, its source sounds are swimming in those vibes we remember and still cherish. Its interface feels refreshingly simple and true to form while still offering a nice set of tools for enhancing the sounds. If your looking for something different, TAL's audio sampler is worth a serious look.

Amazing plug-in from and amazing Company

Everything I've ever tried out from this company has been top notch (paid and free). I've always wanted to try an Ensoniq ESQ-1 and this plugin filled that desire beautifully.

@jimmarchi1 only problem is that SQ80 emulation is windows only. I have 2 workstations. Mac/PC. But yes I have it on my PC and use it here and there.
