Incredible Drum

The Tama S.L.P. Limited Edition 14x6.5" G-Hickory Snare Drum is an incredible drum. I love the sound the hickory shell gives—it has a nice dark, warm tone with plenty of body. It’s deep, rich, and musical without losing definition.

I’m running Evans Heavyweight on the batter and an Evans Snareside 300 on the bottom, and the tone is absolutely huge. It delivers a powerful backbeat with great low-end presence, but still tunes up nicely when needed.

This snare is very versatile and works well across a wide range of styles. The build quality is excellent—solid hardware and craftsmanship throughout—and it feels like a drum that will hold up for years of playing and gigging. For the quality, sound, and versatility you get, it’s great bang for the buck. Highly recommended.
