Franz Hoffmann Violin Review — The Violin

the-violin.com

The Franz Hoffmann Etude Violin emerges as a standout choice for beginner to intermediate players, offering excellent craftsmanship and a clear, full sound, especially when paired with upgraded Dominant strings. While it lacks a complete outfit, requiring additional purchases like a bow and case, its responsiveness and dynamic range make it a worthwhile investment at around $200. The review praises it as a "steal," suggesting it offers quality beyond its price, though buyers should be prepared for some extra costs. Overall, it's highly recommended for those prioritizing sound and build quality in an entry-level violin.

Classic

I have a Guarneri replica Amac violin. It has a wonderful sound at the fraction of the cost of many pro violins. The man is a fine artist and craftsman. I also have a Stradivari replica by Vif that I acquired on Amazon for like $100 bucks (with bad reviews to boot). It sounds and looks to me as good as violins many times the price. Beautiful superb, artistry, and wonderful sound :)

I don't know how

I tried learning violin as a small child, but I never figured it out. It is now horribly detuned, and occasionally used to make John Cale-type noises.

Been my best friend since I was 16. Got it at a great price.

Protostar Definitely want to get a cello or violin bow to use with my guitar though, could make some really cool shit with that

Anna Yvette 🦄 @Protostar_UK I do that all the time with my violin bow with my SG def worth it

Protostar @annayvettemusic not sure if the size difference would yield much different results ;P

Protostar @annayvettemusic does it make your strings dirty at all?

Anna Yvette 🦄 @Protostar_UK nope, just make sure you rosin it up ... Also I use coated stings on my SG so... Idk if that makes a difference
