Description
Introducing the Yamaha 2.5 Octave Concert Band Bells, a masterpiece in concert percussion crafted for those who demand nothing short of excellence. Designed with high carbon steel bars, these bells provide a pure, bright tone that's both focused and resonant, making them an ideal choice for orchestras, concert bands, and professional ensembles. The non-graduated bars measure 1-1/4 inches across, ensuring each note is crisp and clear, resonating with a brilliance that will captivate any audience.
What sets these bells apart is their innovative nodal point support string and single-pin bar mounting. This design ensures each bar maintains its integrity and offers outstanding sustain, allowing your performance to linger in the air long after the note is struck. The deep hardwood frame and case not only provide structural stability but also serve as a resonating chamber, enhancing the overall acoustic presence of your play.
For those on the move, the Yamaha Concert Bells come with an easy on/off lid hinge, making it incredibly simple to pack and transport without compromising on protection. Whether you're heading to a local gig or an international concert, these bells are ready to travel with you.

Gear4Music offers a 2.5 octave glockenspiel significantly cheaper than Yamaha, though the included mallets are subpar.

so pingy!
hoo boy, this "instrument" is the least musical "instrument" I own. Its extremely shrill notes sound terrible with hard plastic mallets, and dull and muted with rubber mallets. I have yet to find a circumstance in which I will bias to these over any other keyboard type instrument.

At 57:47 you can see greenwood playing a Glockenspiel on top of his Fender Rhodes
At 17:15 in this live performance of "Brick By Boring Brick" at Rock Am Ring in 2013 we can see Taylor playing this glockenspiel and at 3:28 in this performance of the same song on Jimmy Fallon we can clearly see that it is the same glockenspiel. Taylor only uses it during the bridge of this song.
