Critic Reviews

Yamaha DD5 (MT Jul 89)

muzines.co.uk

The Yamaha DD-5 offers an affordable and fun entry into electronic drumming, making it an attractive option for those looking to experiment with drum pads without breaking the bank. With 30 preset rhythms and a price under £100, it provides a decent variety of sounds for basic use. However, the sounds are fairly basic and might not satisfy those seeking high-quality samples. The lack of a MIDI In socket limits its integration into more sophisticated setups, reducing its utility as a complete drum machine solution. While it may not replace professional gear, its value for casual users and budding musicians is hard to deny.

It's ok I guess

I purchased this with hopes of using it to trigger my sampler. This should work, in theory, but it appears as though my pads are broken.
