A hidden gem and gread mod platform. Dirt cheap. I've swapped pickups, added a bigsby lic. bridge and it is a killer. Looks cool and plays fantastic.

Looks cool, plays great on bridge pickup. The Duncan designed neck and middle pickups are rather dull and meh and it is hard to find a replacement due to unique size of the pickups. They are rebranded Artec with alnico magnets. I replaced them with Entwistle version with neodymium magnets and it is a big improvement. I believe Gfs has similar sized ones.

Out of the box, for recording it is ok. It sounds almost as good as some of my IRs. However I've modded it bypasing the cab sim circuit and it became my goto preamp. I wish the factory version was made with the cab sim bypass switch, it would be one of the best sounding Fender blackface-type preamps, period. I pair it with my hx stomp IRs and I like it better (more organic sounding) than the sims in the hx. I stack it with the cts killer v preamp/od and it sounds and feels even better.
