Billy Preston's Gear
Preston is seen on the Rhodes accompanying members of the Beatles during the "Let It Be" sessions.
Preston pioneered the use of the Clavinet during the recording of "Outa-Space" in 1972, according to this website.
"Preston, who died Tuesday at 59 in Los Angeles after a long, kidney-related illness that had left him in a coma since November, was a virtuoso on the Hammond B-3 organ. Two albums recorded before he was 20 were aptly titled 'The Wildest Organ in Town' and 'Most Exciting Organ Ever.'"
"In 1971 George Harrison and Ravi Shankar held their famous Concert for Bangladesh at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The stage was positively bristling with MD421s, including all of the stars’ lead vocal mics (Eric Clapton, Ringo Star, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell and Billy Preston) Check out the video." -Martin Mitchell's Microphones.

In addition to the Clavinet, Billy Preston played an RMI Electra-piano on the Rolling Stones’ song “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker).” The instrument is clearly heard during a short fill in the second verse of the song (around the 0:58 mark).
Billy Preston played a sparkle-top Fender Rhodes piano during the Beatles' Get Back sessions in 1969. Preston accompanied the Beatles on the Rhodes for their rooftop concert, the group's final public appearance. In April 1969, the Beatles' single "Get Back" was credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston," the only time an artist was credited as a co-performer with The Beatles after the band started recording as independent artists. The credit was bestowed by the Beatles to reflect the extent of Preston's presence on the track; his Rhodes electric piano is prominent throughout and he plays an extended solo.
Additional photos of Preston playing the Rhodes with the Beatles can be seen here and here.
Preston is featured playing a CP-110 in this 1974 Univox ad for the Compac-Piano.
Billy can be seen playing a Fender Bass VI during a session with The Beatles at Savile Row in January 1969. Along with Preston on Bass, we can see George Harrison playing the piano (and possibly doing an early run-through of his song, Old Brown Shoe).
Billy Preston is confirmed to use the Yamaha DX7, as evidenced by a video shared on Instagram by user "funklife4ever," which features a performance of Billy Preston's band from 1986.
