BT's Gear
BT still adores his heavily modified Roland TR-707, the Roland TR-505, the Roland 505 and the Boss DR-550 MkII. "Anything with that many switches has to sound good," he says with a laugh.
"Valhalla room reverb has the vibe of my FAV ever (Lexicon 2400). Just stunning. Bells, small micro attack transients + this is INSTA vibe."
12:42 AM - 13 Jul 2011
Find it on:
BT talks about his use of Stutter Edit plugin in this video from iZotope.
"here's part of my CSound Code for This Binary Universe. Enjoy: http://simoncpage.co.uk/blog/2008/10/bt-this-binary-universe/"

BT and iZotope worked together on developing the BreakTweaker plugin.
"Polyrhythms and isorhythms with 4ms rotating clock dividers and pingable envelope generator. Absolute rhythmic inspiration mayhem."
BT can be seen using the 4ms Shuffling Clock Multiplier in his modular in this video.
"Holy S**T @Arturia Beat Step. 100$ CV/MIDI step sequencer? AMAZING!!"
At the 14 second mark of this Telly video, a Phonogene module can be seen on the left side, about two modules over from BT's hand.
Six seconds into BT's Telly video, BT's left hand reaches just above an SEM20 module. The "V|S|F" can be seen below the brightest green light in the shot.
Five seconds into the video, BT's left hand reaches for one of the modules. To the left of his hand, the sliders and red plastic of the Intellijel Dual ADSR can be spotted.
While visible at the beginning of BT's video, two seconds in, the Malekko Richter Borg is most visible at the right-hand side of the shot.
At the very beginning of BT's Telly video, a Plog module can be seen just to the bottom-right-hand side of the shot.
11 seconds into BT's Telly video, the DPO module can be spotted on the lower-left corner of the shot.
Nine seconds into this video of one of BT's modular synthesizers, the Anti Oscillator can be spotted on the bottom of the shot, one unit right of a Malekko Richter Borg module.
Two seconds into this video of BT's modular synthesizer, the Intellijel Rubicon can be spotted on the bottom of the shot (to the right of a Malekko Richter module, and down and to the left of a Harvestman Hertz Donut MkII.
Four seconds into BT's Telly video, the E350 can be spotted behind a clump of wires just to the right of the center of the screen. It's covered mostly by blue wires.
BT tweets a photo of the Roland CR-8000 CompuRhythm he just purchased on eBay. He says, "Hey @LinusGroup remember this?? Thank you EBay. Wow the drum machine collection is getting epic." (from Aug 2014)
In a series of tweets from September 2014, BT speaks enthusiastically about the Blue Microphones Mo-Fi Powered High-Fidelity Headphones. He says, "FINALLY can talk about these! Don't care what headphones you're listening to, they don't sound this good, promise: http://mofiheadphones.com"
He later goes on to say, "They're big, but powered & honestly have the most accurate bass of any headphone I've EVER heard. I'm mixing on these, period. Check em' out"
BT shows off his Philips Friends of Hue LightStrips he will use to illuminate his studio space. Several boxes of the LightStrips can be seen. He says, "New halo and cabinet lighting for the new studio. We got so much of this Phillips lighting we have to cut, solder and re jumper ourselves. You can take a picture of a sunset and put the dominant colors on the lights. Crazy!"
"Now headed to Switched On to see my CS80!!! Expect my instagram to explode. They spent 2 months installing MIDI. Driving here to pick up soon."
On ProjectSAM's website, BT states, about Symphobia Colours: Orchestrator, in a testimonial, "These libraries are an invaluable, inspirational tool in my scoring arsenal. When I feel stuck, I go to them and I am instantly inspired."
In his performance at TomorrowWorld, BT uses this.
In his performance at the Marquee in New York, BT is seen using the Pioneer CDJ-2000 player.
The Mixed in Key Artist page shows BT as an artist along with his review
BT says, "This is a quantum leap forward from the pianoforte which was the last big development in the keyboard."
From here.
As the center of his studio, BT uses M-Audio's Radium61 61-Key USB MIDI Controller to drive his system, complemented by an array of Pioneer Pro DJ gear. He has both a Macintosh G5, running Logic Pro with Digidesign's Pro Tools HD hardware systems, and a G4, allowing him to run older software and hardware interfaces. Additionally, there are multiple AMD Dual-core Opteron computers running Native Instruments' Kontakt 2 with EastWest/Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra and Symphonic Choir libraries as well as Quantum Leap Colossus and Stormdrum and Native Instruments' Kompakt. The space is nothing if not versatile. For his score for 2004's "Monster," BT wanted a more organic sound, so vocals, guitars and percussion overdubs were done in various room at his home. For this, he used a variety of mics, some of the many guitars hanging on his wall and Neve microphone preamps.
