Burton Cummings' Gear
On his Yamaha article, it states that Cummings plays the CP33 during performances.
In this photo, Burton Cummings can be seen playing a Yamaha Electone A-3 with the Guess Who. Cummings gave the A-3 a lot of exposure in the ‘60s when the Guess Who were the house band for the CBC television program Let’s Go. Two full episodes of the show can be seen here, which include many great shots of Burton Cummings playing the Yamaha A-3.
Burton Cummings frequently played a Hohner Pianet in the early days of the Guess Who, including on the television program Let's Go. On the show, he was frequently seen with a Yamaha Electone A-3 organ stacked on his Hohner Pianet. In this photo, Cummings can be seen playing a Pianet with what appears to be a custom-built stand at Winnipeg's Playhouse Theatre.
The instrument was later featured on the song "These Eyes" from the band's 1969 album Wheatfield Soul.
In this photo, a young Burton Cummings can be seen playing a Hohner Symphonic 30. He is appearing with either Chad Allan & The Expressions or the Guess Who. Cummings initially joined The Expressions to replace departed keyboardist Bob Ashley, who also played a Hohner Symphonic. Additional photos here and here.
