On his own website, David reprinted an archival article from Electronic Musician:

"David Frank was more or less a one man band with an Oberheim DSX and DMX as well as a minimoog bass."

David Frank used the PPG Wave 2.3 synthesizer, as noted in the May 1986 issue of Keyboard Magazine.

The PPG Waveterm David used is verified as being an "A" model (vs B) by the unit's current owner in this Facebook post. Additionally, a Waveterm was spotted in David's Studio in a 1986 Keyboard Magazine interview posted as proof for David's DX1.

In the May 1986 issue of Keyboard Magazine, David Frank is shown using the Oxford Synthesiser Company OSCar Synthesizer.
