David Frank's Gear
Per Keyboard Mag, May 1986. Item is cited as a "TX rack with 4 modules", which narrows it down to the 816, the only modular TX product.
On his own website, David reprinted an archival article from Electronic Musician:
"David Frank was more or less a one man band with an Oberheim DSX and DMX as well as a minimoog bass."
David Frank used the PPG Wave 2.3 synthesizer, as noted in the May 1986 issue of Keyboard Magazine.
In a user-uploaded photo from Keyboard Magazine, May 1986, David Frank is shown using the Linn Electronics Linn 9000 drum machine.
A yellow Q keyboard can be seen in this studio photo from David's own website.

From his own website, Mr. Frank re-posted an EM interview that name-checked him:
"David Frank was more or less a one man band with an Oberheim DSX and DMX as well as a minimoog bass."
Per feature on Yamaha's own website:
I still use my original Motif8, which has weighted keys, plus my newer ES7 which has synthesizer action.

The PPG Waveterm David used is verified as being an "A" model (vs B) by the unit's current owner in this Facebook post. Additionally, a Waveterm was spotted in David's Studio in a 1986 Keyboard Magazine interview posted as proof for David's DX1.
In the May 1986 issue of Keyboard Magazine, David Frank is shown using the Oxford Synthesiser Company OSCar Synthesizer.

As seen in this studio photo on David's own website. Note OB-8 in this photo can be distinguished from it's predecessor, the OB-Xa, via the extra panel button for (I believe) Volume Mod.

David Frank used the Oberheim OB-Xa on early 80s records by The System (including "You're In My System") and Chaka Khan. Refer to the comments section of the contacts page of his website.
