In a post by Sum 41 on Instagram, Deryck Whibley is featured in this month's issue of Total Guitar UK, where he is seen with a Fender Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Custom.

In the official music video for "Motivation" by Sum 41, Deryck Whibley can be seen using a Marshall JCM 2000 Dual Super Lead amplifier head at the 1:23 mark.

"All the amps we use are my own ones profiled at home... none of us use the Kemper shit. I see alot of guys using these but I haven't seen anyone profiling their own."

Deryck posted this to the Facebook page of Sum 41, saying, "just bought these new amps. these 2 amps together make such a huge sound. this is what we used a lot on the chuck album. they were the main guitar sounds on "no reason" "bitter end" "angels with dirty faces" and "we're all to blame". i can't wait to lay some guitars down for the new record with these. you'll hear a lot of them on this new stuff."

Deryck Whibley used the Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 Reissue Goldtop as his main guitar during the "All Killer No Filler" tour cycle in 2001, as highlighted in an Instagram post celebrating his influence on music.

During live performances from both the "Does This Look Infected?" and "Chuck" eras, Deryck Whibley can be seen playing a Fender American Professional II Telecaster in Mercury with a Rosewood Fingerboard. He personalized this guitar with stickers. Additionally, he uses another black Telecaster, distinct from the one featured in "Underclass Hero." A user-uploaded photo confirms this usage.
