Critic Reviews

Yamaha CP300 Digital Stage Piano - JazzTimes

jazztimes.com

The Yamaha CP300 stands out for its realistic acoustic-grand-piano sound and user-friendly interface, but its significant weight makes it a challenge to transport. Built-in speakers are a boon for beginners and pros with roadies, yet the added pounds aren't ideal for gigging musicians without a PA. While the graded hammer action and layering capabilities impress, some non-piano sounds fall short, sounding outdated. Despite its high price, the CP300 is a solid choice for dedicated keyboardists in bands or students seeking an acoustic alternative.

One of the best stage pianos

I purchased this keyboard back in 2009. I had performed on Yamaha P-200, P-250, and wanted one for myself. It has the best sound and feel for a classically trained pianist. Because of the realistic hammer action and speakers, it is quite a bit heavier, but it is worth it. Having the USB output was also handy for connecting to DAWs.
