Erkin Koray's Gear
Erkin Koray owns a Gibson Les Paul SG Custom 3-Pickup guitar, which he reportedly purchased at a flea market for a bargain price. In a shared anecdote, he fondly recalled this acquisition, grinning and looking at the guitar with the delight of a child. The proof is supported by a user-uploaded photo.
Erkin Koray is seen with a Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar in a DİPSAHAF PLAK article discussing his artistic inspiration from John Lennon and Yoko Ono's public statements.

Erkin Koray likely used his Höfner 176 electric guitar to record his first single, "Bir Eyül Akşamı," and his EP, "Balla Balla." He also played it during his time with the Air Force Jazz Band. It seems he retired the Höfner around 1967, when he signed with Istanbul Records, in favor of a Fender Stratocaster. This was later replaced by his iconic white Gibson SG, which he used when forming his group, Yeraltı Dörtlüsü, in the early 1970s. The proof of his ownership is a user-uploaded photo.
Erkin Koray used the Ibanez SA160QM guitar primarily for this performance. At the 1:56 mark in the video, you can see that the 5-way switch has been modified, and the single neck and middle pickups have been replaced with Hot-rails. This particular guitar model was manufactured between 2001 and 2005, according to the Ibanez wiki.
Erkin Koray used a modified 1965 Fender Mustang White Electric Guitar. This guitar appears to have an angled full-size humbucker in the bridge position and additional frets for microtonal tuning. In a video from 2006, Erkin Koray explains the "secret" microtonal tuning at the 0:58 mark, pointing to the saz player and saying, "my friend here knows more about this subject."
In the 1994 broadcast of Kanal D's Gala Geceleri program, it is visible from 3:07 onwards that Erkin Koray played the Korg i3 keyboard. Additionally, the artist used the Korg i3 in his 1999 album "Devlerin Nefesi," with the album's final track, "İ3 ve Ben," directly referencing this instrument. These instances provide concrete proof that Erkin Koray utilized the Korg i3 in both live performances and studio recordings. The performance can be viewed on YouTube, uploaded by TurkishVideo under the caption "Erkin Koray - Canli TV konseri - Gala Geceleri 1994."
