Euronymous' Gear
Euronymous is frequently seen playing a Gibson Les Paul Standard, as evidenced by numerous photos discussed on the Marshall Amp Forum.
Due to the years of him being alive and to the unmistakable look of this pedal, the photo clearly shows proof of him using an HM-2.
Euronymous plays this black Greco Les Paul copy at a gig in Ski in '85 or '86 Origins of when or how he acquired this Greco copy have not surfaced yet. Also it appears that Euronymous painted or had someone paint inverted crufixes on the guitars body.
Without any shadow of doubt, the pedal boosting the HM-2 in the attached photo is a BOSS SD-1 Super-Overdrive (obviously Made in Japan) because the BOSS OD-1 had two knobs only, the OD-2 had four knobs and the weren't any other yellow BOSS pedals around at that time (except for a wah, but Euronymous seemingly never used one). In-fact if you follow the cables in the photograph - you can see the SD-1 is stacked into (placed before) the HM-2, this would create more compression/distortion in the signal instead of volume boost.
Euronymous played a sunburst Gibson Les Paul guitar, which can be seen in many pictures of him playing. He played through a Marshall Half Stack and used an Ibanez Tube Screamer pedal as well as another distortion pedal to create a unique sound.

Marshall JMP 1987 Mk II Super Lead 50w Amp Head (1976-77) With Master Volume Mod
Guitar Amplifier HeadsEuronymous used to use a 1976 or 1977 Marshall Model 1987 JMP MK II 50-watt amp head. The white threading, the switches, and the chrome plated jacks are clear giveaways. The 1976 and 1977 Marshall Model 1987 JMP MK II amps had white threading, plastic swtiches and the they had transparent red power switch which also doubled up as the indicator. The chrome plated jacks are another giveaway that the amp he uses is a 1976 or 1977 model, it's becasue all the JMP models made post-1977 had black input jacks. If you see closely, you'll also notice that Euronymous's amp was modified with the master volume mod.
Between minute 8 and 9, Necrobutcher talks about the first rehearsal with Øystein, where you can see pictures of amps and pedals as well as Necro talking about the equipment. This confirms the Peavey Bandit, but also the Boss HM and Boss SD
This was Euronymous's Marshall Cabinet he used live and for recordings. The grill cloth gives away the model
Euronymous used the Arion SMM-1 Metal Master distortion pedal in his setup, placing it before an Ibanez Tube Screamer and after a Marshall Plexi to craft his distinctive black metal guitar tone, as noted on eBay.
The 70's era Marshall 1960BX 4x12" cabinets as used by Euronymous were loaded with the Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers instead of the G12M Greenback speakers. Those Blackback speakers used to use new 1777 Kurt Mueller cones instead of the old 102 003 Pulsonic cones. These Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers had more upper mids and treble than the old Greenback speakers.
In this photo, we see Euronymous playing a Peavey Patriot with a modified pickguard, marking it as his only known non-Les Paul guitar.
Euronymous is known to use the Yamaha CGS102 guitar, as evidenced by a discussion on Reddit where user Level_Bunch_3430 identifies the instrument in a shared photo.
