Verified This combo is proving to be DEADLY!!!! This Jubilee from @marshallamps_uk combined with this tube screamer and this bad as FUCK pedal from @protonepedals is just destroying! And it also does what other amps can’t. Something about a well overdriven Marshall that has a clarity and punch that can’t be reproduced!!! LOVING THIS!!! Riffs and drums are flying left and right here in the mountains!!

From the interview with Premier Guitar:

What effects did you use for Blood In, Blood Out? Holt: I use a ton of different pedals. I love stompboxes—they’re like crack to me! I have pedals from Maxon, Dunlop, HomeBrew Electronics, Pigtronix. I use a lot of the Maxon Tube Screamer-type pedals. They made the original ones, so they have ones that are exactly like the original, sought-after ones, and they also have updated versions.

I also love the Boss Octaver. I’ve never been without one my whole life. Dunlop makes a bass octave pedal, which sounds probably even a little better and has a smaller footprint, which I also like. And I use a Voodoo Lab Ground Control. With Slayer, I’ve been using the Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah. Kerry [King] uses the Zakk Wylde wah, so I wanted something to differentiate our wah sounds.

Signature pickup with EMG

Gary has been a long time EMG artist from his earliest days playing lead guitar in San Francisco bay area metal band, Exodus. Now also a permanent member of Slayer, Gary Holt has earned his place in metal history and the GH set exemplifies his sound and look. For years EMG has created custom red pickup caps just for Gary Holt, now, thanks to him, the Red Series EMG pickups are available to the public. The GH set includes an EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 89R in the neck position. The 81 provides all the crunch and tight sustain Gary needs. The 89R plays double duty as a humbucker and a single coil with its own preamp and coil for true single coil tones with no hum. The GH Set gives players multiple tonal options that scream to be played.
