Jeff Rosenstock's Guitars
"The guitar I use for almost everything is the Mexican Fender ’72 Telecaster Deluxe, the reissue."
Jeff has been playing a baritone, dual-humbucker Jazzmaster since Bomb the Music Industry!, but has just recently started playing a regular Jazzmaster.
You can see Jeff playing his Squier Baritone Jazzmaster while touring in support of his album Worry.
In a video of Jeff Rosenstock's performance at The Secret Group on March 9, 2018, he can be seen playing a Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus. Although the video doesn't provide a clear view, I recently attended a house show in Austin where he used this guitar for one of his songs.
Jeff can be seeing this Jazzmaster throughout the linked video. At first, I thought this was an American Original Jazzmaster, but the matching headstock confirms that this is likely an Olympic White Vintera 60's Jazzmaster with pau ferro board, given that it has binding, a dark fretboard, and has a matching headstock. The only immediately apparent modification is duct tape over the strap buttons, which Jeff does to a lot of his guitars as an alternative to straplocks. It has the original trem bar and does not appear to have a mastery bridge or any sort of hardware replacement.
at 4:27 in this video, Jeff can be seen playing a Fender Jaguar HH, specifically with a matching black headstock and stopbar tailpiece, which identifies this as a black Fender JGS J- Craft Jaguar Special HH. This video is from the recording sessions for "Worry." and this guitar is being shown during an off-the-floor recording session, so it presumably can be heard on the record.
In this photo taken by one of Jeff's bandmates on instagram, Jeff is seen holding this guitar in the recording studio, presumably to record for his upcoming album "Hellmode".
Jeff Rosenstock is seen using a Veleno Aluminum Guitar in a user-uploaded photo, which resembles the model famously used by Kurt Cobain.
In this video, Jeff Rosenstock can be seen playing the Fender Parallel Universe Jazz Tele during his performance at Warsaw in Brooklyn, NY. This observation is supported by footage from the YouTube video titled "Jeff Rosenstock - Cherry (live debut, Warsaw, Brooklyn, 8/21/2024)" uploaded by sks.
In an Instagram post by Jeff Rosenstock, he can be seen holding a Fender 70th-anniversary Ultra Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar in Amethyst. The caption reads: "HEY THANKS @JASONMKLEIN & @FENDER FOR HOOKING ME UP WITH SOME SICK NEW SHIT!! 12 STRING SQUIER?? IRIDESCENT STRATOCASTER?!?! HELL YES LET'S GOOOOO seriously it's very cool to get this kind of stuff extra cheap can't wait to shred my fingers to bits on them! THANKS!!"
In an Instagram post by Jeff Rosenstock, he is seen holding a Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII 12-string Electric Guitar. In the caption, Rosenstock expresses gratitude to @JasonMKlein and @Fender for providing him with new equipment, specifically mentioning the "12 STRING SQUIER."
Jeff Rosenstock uses a Fender American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster, as evidenced in the YouTube video titled "Jeff Rosenstock 'Scram', 'Beauty of Breathing', 'Old Crap', '80's Through the 50's' guitar lesson" by latas recicladas de LMBECIL. The distinguishing features of this guitar, such as the fretboard binding, matching headstock, and specific knobs, confirm its identity.
Jeff uses his baritone jaguar since the late 2000's
