On his official website, Jim Campilongo says, "The picks I use are the little tiny Fender teardrops- Heavy... I think the model number is 098-0358-500."
On his official website, Jim Campilongo says, "and a 70's Vibrochamp (the most amazing vibrato sound ever created)..."
"I also love the Boomerang Phrase Sampler... maybe I'm alone here, but I prefer the simplicity of very first model. It's a great musical tool to use during lessons, for writing and for practicing soloing over changes," Jim Campilongo says, on his official website.
In this photo, found on Jim's website, a Boss RC-20 can be seen.
"My Custom shop Signature Top-Loader Telecaster was introduced by Fender at the winter NAMM show in January, 2010.
It has an exact replica of my neck, and features pickups custom wound to my specs (see "pick ups"). They sound fantastic. My goal was to have a woody, full bodied sound while retaining the character of a great Telecaster," says Jim, on his official website.,
"The Stardust Blackface has what I've been looking in a overdrive for a long, long time. A pedal that gives me some great beefy authentic vintage amp sounds, without having to crank the amp to overkill settings," Jim Campilongo says, on his official website.
“I quickly dialed up a Rockabilly slap back that sounded very organic – very similar like my old tape Echoplex (without the squeaking analog tape!) . Usually getting a slap back echo is tricky, especially on my Line 6, but because of the 3 knob design, I quickly got the setting. And it’s the best I’ve ever heard. I proceeded to getting some deep space sounds easily too. My girlfriend can borrow my Line 6, I’m converting to Delay Llama ! “
“I love JAM pedals and they remain among my favorites -ever.”
According to his website, Jim Campilongo has two '70's Vibrolux Reverbs.
On his official website, Jim Campilongo says, "D'Addario EXL120 strings for the Tele..."
"I have a '59 Fender Tele, three saddle, top-loading bridge with threaded 'steel' saddles and slot head set screws. 1959 was the only year Fender produced string through BRIDGE and not BODY. As far as the Toploader -- I think the feel and sound is a bit more 'rubbery' than a standard Tele." - Jim Campilongo.
According to an interview with Vintage Guitar, this guitar was used with Fender Princeton Reverb on "Live at Rockwood".
“I love JAM pedals and they remain among my favorites -ever.”
Jim Campilongo expresses his admiration for JAM pedals, including the Fuzz Phrase, noting they are among his all-time favorites. This appreciation is highlighted in a feature by JAM pedals.
It’s a ’59 Telecaster through a silverface Princeton combo with a Celestion G10. No pedals. It had a blown speaker for a couple of nights and I was kind of enjoying it (laughs); you can hear the blown speakers on “Jim’s Blues.” It’s a good blown-speaker sound. That lasted a couple of weeks, but by about the third week I was like, “I gotta get a new speaker.” (laughs) But I caught the sweet spot.
