Jon Spencer's Gear
A Getty Images photo shows Jon Spencer using a Peavey Bandit 65 amplifier, alongside a Kustom Tuck n Roll amplifier, highlighting his gear setup with a Boss tuner.
Aside from not being able to read the name on the headstock, if you really inspect the guitar in the picture it is an identical match
In a Getty Images photo, Jon Spencer is seen using a Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner, identifiable by its distinct print.

Kurt Wolf, when he was in Pussy Galore, he used one of these and so then I went and got one and used it in Boss Hog later on. And these are great because when you on it, it's like [imitiates wooshing fuzz sound] like a car, like a rocket taking off (and it actually looks kinda like it) and a car screeching, y'know, it's like, got a really great, it's got a nice volume boost and like [imitiates wooshing fuzz sound], y'know like... [starts playing fuzzed guitar]
Quote from an article by Gregory Adams published on GuitarWorld on August 14, 2019: "Working alongside producer Bill Skibbe, (Jon) Spencer threw his well-worn, duct-taped Silvertone 1476 through various vintage amps the Key Club had on hand, though he notes that he especially loved the filthy, low-end tone found within the 8-inch speaker of a Kalamazoo Model One."
Silvertone (Harmony) 1476 (several with standard white truss rod cover) - used live between 2018 and 2025 in Jon Spencer & the HITmakers and his band with Kendall Wind and Macky Spider Bowman
This photo (and many others), show Jon Spencer playing a Teisco EJ-2. Jon's particular guitar was originally branded "Zim Gar," but Teisco made guitars under multiple labels. The headstock on Jon's guitar has broken at some point, but it's clearly the same model. It's unclear if Jon owns several of these guitars, or if it's one guitar with an increasingly worn finish.
Jon Spencer uses the Way Huge WHE406 Conquistador Gated Fuzz, as evidenced by a photo from Tony Giacca’s Instagram account (@tonyguitarnerd). Tony, who plays with Gentle Ben and His Shimmering Hands, captured this image while supporting Jon at his show in Brisbane at The Crowbar on Sunday, 5 October 2025.
This is a photo from Tony Giacca’s Instagram account (@tonyguitarnerd); Tony plays with Gentle Ben and His Shimmering Hands. They supported Jon at his show in Brisbane at The Crowbar on Sunday, 5 October 2925. It’s hard to work out exactly what variety of fuzz face has been used due to the extensive amount of tape.
Jon Spencer uses a 1960's Fender Super Reverb Combo Amp, as evidenced by a photograph taken by Tony Giacca on October 4, 2025, at The Crowbar in Brisbane. The image, shared by Instagram user tonyguitarnerd, shows the amp as part of the backline for Jon's gig, where it was paired with a Peavy 65.
In a photograph taken at a show at the Southern in Charlottesville, VA, Jon Spencer can be seen using a TC Electronic PolyTune as a tuner and mute. The pedal is positioned in the "V" between his amps, and he also has his usual Way Huge Conquistador and Fuzz Face pedals in front of him. This setup was documented in an image available on Equipboard.
