Josh McClorey

Josh McClorey of The Strypes is seen using a Vox AC30HW2 amplifier in a photo from Asset-cache, highlighting his preference for this hand-wired model.

On the Orange Amplification website, McClorey claimed “I love the dirty sound you can get from Orange amps as it really suits the rough and ready R&B sound I try to produce. The amps have a great range in tone without having an unnecessary amount of control knobs and this appeals to me as it is simple yet effective. Some of my favourite guitarists/bands have used Orange in the past including Jimmy Page and Arctic Monkeys. These are musicians who’s guitar sounds I admire a lot.”

Uses it with a Vox AC30 and two Marshall 4x12 cabs.

At the Haldern Pop Festival 2016, Josh McClorey used two Marshall 1960AX cabinets alongside a Vox AC30 and a Marshall Bluesbreaker, as seen in the performance video by muzline on YouTube.

In this photo, Josh can be seen using the hand-wired Vox AC-15. He used it throughout the years since The Strypes' Little Victories album.
