Liam began using Orange County Drum and Percussion custom snare drums in 2002 while in Not By Choice. His favourite was always a 6.5" x 14" Orange vented snare drum with custom badges. The "Liam Killeen Model".

This pic was taken from either a Not By Choice or a USS rehearsal in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"John Whynot produced our first record, and when he landed in Toronto and I showed him this snare, his main concern was the bleed on every other mic, because he'd never heard something so loud! Playing with this live has been great, because of the stick response. If it's tuned properly, this thing is a real weapon. Some FOH engineers don't love the volume, but when we were playing with Avril Lavigne, I'd get tons of compliments on the consistency of the hits, and it always opened up any gate on any mic it's ever come across."

"When it came time to choose cymbals, I was very much torn between Zildjian and Sabian. Robert at Sabian was the difference. It's awesome to represent a Canadian company around the world, and I've always had a great time visiting the factory and talking to the passionate people that craft these amazing instruments."
