Description

Time to get loud. The JH16v2 is in the ears of nearly every famous touring Rock & Roll band on the planet (and also some Soft Rockers, too). Our 10 driver configuration brings clarity to the broadest range of sounds, so you’ll hear the crash of the cymbal all the way down to the crunch of the bass at full volume with zero distortion.

Like all JH Audio custom in ear monitors, the JH16v2 offers -26dB of isolation eliminating stage volume and ambient noise – critical for performing musicians and audiophiles alike. This extreme ability to block outside sounds enhances the listening experience and allows lower listening levels reducing the potential for hearing damage.

Each JH16v2 is a unique hand-built creation based on custom ear molds made just for your ears.

Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about JH Audio JH16 Pro Custom In-Ear Monitor.

Setup and maintenance

  • Users advise against frequent plugging and unplugging cables to avoid potential damage to connectors.

    Source

Other

  • It's observed that the physical size of JH IEMs, particularly models with many drivers, might protrude if the user has small ears, but generally, they sit flush.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The JH16 with a two-pin connector is preferred by some, but newer models with four-pin connectors offer enhanced security, particularly for active performers.

    Source
  • The JH16 Pro is often preferred over the Layla for frequent use, despite both being high-quality in-ear monitors.

    Source
  • Some users prefer JH16 Pro over UE models for sound quality, though UE is praised for excellent customer service.

    Source
  • The JH16 Pro is compared to the Roxanne v2; users find the latter lacking in imaging, resolution, timbre, and soundstage relative to other high-end models.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • JH16's bass response is substantial, but for artists needing physical bass sensation, stage subs or wedges may be necessary.

    Source
  • JH16 Pro performs best with live instruments and a dedicated IEM system, as low impedance can be a mismatch with standard phone or laptop outputs.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners report that the 4-pin cable replacement costs $100 compared to $35 for the 2-pin, highlighting potential ongoing expenses for performers.

    Source
  • Despite some negative experiences with fit, others report consistent reliability over years of touring, with minimal cable replacements required.

    Source
  • The JH16 Pro, when updated to V.2, remains a preferred choice over newer models due to its consistent performance and sound quality.

    Source
  • Some users find the physical size of JH Audio IEMs cumbersome, likening them to "sticking acorns in your ears," which can affect comfort.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The inline bass attenuator on JH's upper-tier models can be cumbersome due to the larger 4-pin connector and thick cable.

    Source
  • The JH16 Pro can be used as earplugs, offering around 26dB isolation, but lack ambient features, making high-end attenuation significant when unplugged.

    Source
  • The JH16 Pro is noted for its neutral/balanced sound without emphasizing any particular frequency, suitable for those seeking an accurate audio representation.

    Source

Build quality

  • The 4-pin connector is more secure than the old 2-pin, though it can occasionally loosen; using a drop of blue Loctite might solve this issue.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Some users feel JH Audio has declined in customer service over the years, affecting perceived value despite sound quality.
