Michael Cavanagh uses the Gretsch Catalina Club Classic drum kit, as confirmed by a photo he shared on Instagram during the recording of "Murder of the Universe." He mentioned that he loves the sound of this kit, particularly noting its effectiveness for recording sessions.

For a split second at 6:15 you can see Cavs using a big fluffy white felt bass drum beater to get the warm and not very intense attack you hear from his kick.
At 5:41 Stu points to this microphone and says "AKG with foam". They used this as the close snare mic on Flying Microtonal Banana. It can also be seen when Eric explains Stu's wallet at 3:05, and again on Cavs kit from the wide shot at 5:10.
Cavs made a rundown on his kit on youtube. It's avaliable on the KGATLWA channel, as you can see at 5.38 he shows the cymbal and its pretty self explanatory.
You can see Cavs playing Zildjian A 14" New Beat hi hats in a lot of videos, including this one around the 11:22 mark where the Zildjian ink is still visible. At some point the black ink got rubbed off, but you can tell by their sound, lathing and finish. Theirs are likely from the 70s or 80s.
