Patrick Pentland's Gear
Playing live with Sloan means having a rig that is versatile. I need to be able to access different sounds in various playing conditions, from small clubs to festival stages, and it has to work every time. Trayner’s Dark Horse amps are perfect. The lower output means I can get that full rock sound without tearing heads off, and still have room for cleaner tones when needed. And putting them through 4 4X12 cabs means they drive just that much harder.
There are numerous videos of Sloan in concert where Patrick's two Dark Horses' are visible.

Take a very close look at the picture, while the pedal designation is covered by a cable, the unlit LED readout on the tuner appears to be that of a TU-3 rather than a TU-2, and the coloring appears to be red rather than orange, again suggesting a TU-3.

This was one of Patrick's main guitars in the Navy Blues era. He is seen playing it in the "Money City Maniacs" music video.
I'm not really sure when Patrick got this guitar but I've seen him us it live on the steady tour during "Close Encounters".
Patrick Pentland of Sloan extensively utilized the Squier Showmaster guitar during the Steady tour, as evidenced by his own account on Instagram. Pentland shared, "This is my silver sparkle Squire Showmaster. I got it for about $175, swapped out the pick-ups for $300 EMG ZW active pickups, and turned it into a $475 chainsaw. I mainly used it live for my song Believe In Me, but it hasn’t been out of its case in several years. In fact, I don’t actually know where it is. Now I’m worried." This statement confirms the artist's use and modifications to the guitar, highlighting its significance in his live performances.
Patrick Pentland is shown using the Boss DD-500 Digital Delay in an Instagram post by fuzzedoutband, which discusses the pedals used during his first gig and mentions incorporating them into his Sloan music pedalboard.
Patrick Pentland has been using the Marshall Zakk Wylde MG15MSZW Microstack amplifier live, as evidenced by the image provided in the source.
