Paul Kossoff

Gibson writes on the Paul Kossoff Signature product page "Paul had a unique take on the blues-rock movement, exhibited particularly in the masterful vibrato that helped to give his Les Paul a huge, dynamic voice—and the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard on which he achieved such heights is known to be one of greatest sounding 'Bursts ever made."

This guitar is a 1958 tobacco sunburst also know as darkburst. Paul got this guitar in mid 1969 during a joined tour with Blind Faith. He and Eric Clapton swapped guitars, in which process Paul said goodbyes to his 1957 Les Paul Custom.

At 6:10 in this Guitar Interactive presentation, the narrator says, "[Paul Kossof] had an SG before his dad bought him this Les Paul."

On page 21 of this article from Guitar Interactive Magazine there's a video of Phil Harris with Paul's custom Black Beauty. Phil says about the guitar "it’s a great guitar because it actually signifies the start of Paul Kossoff’s interest and passion for the Les Paul."
