Phil Manzanera

He has been photographed playing a white Strat and is playing one in the Roland promo video.

"Mainly a 1957 black Les Paul Custom, my Firebird, a Chet Atkins guitar for the Spanish guitar bits, a Guild 12-string acoustic and a 1951 Telecaster. I used my Blade for all the rhythmic parts plus the lead sound on Rayo di Bala, which I was very pleased with. Nearly all the solos are played on a Marshall head straight into the desk, not using a speaker."

In the video titled "Phil Manzanera: My Go-To Guitars," Phil Manzanera is seen playing a Gibson Firebird Electric Guitar at the very beginning. He mentions that the specific model could be from either 1965 or 1967, although he is uncertain of the exact year.

What's particularly good about this guitar has always been great for recording um the tuning aspect is not brilliant but for recording purposes it just likes going onto analog tape and so this was used in quite a lot of the Roxy songs on every album I'd use this for something.

At 19:54 in the YouTube video titled "Phil Manzanera: My Go-To Guitars," Phil Manzanera is seen in his studio with a Fender 1951 Telecaster, confirming his use of this specific guitar model.

He states:

It's got a magic about it this guitar it's um it's a real good friend
