Robert Cray is now known for playing a pair of Matchless Clubman 35 Heads for his concerts getting an elegant clean blues sound from his Strat.

“I still have the Fender Super Reverb and use it for recording sometimes, with a Fender Vibro-King as a second stage amp, but the Matchless Clubman 35 is my main amp - Class A 35 watts with a 4x10 cabinet, and I use two of them. Jimmie Vaughan used the same setup for a while." -Robert Cray

“I’ve always liked 4×10 inch speakers. I used to use [Fender] Super Reverbs and I still have those, but I use the Matchless with 4×10’s. I also use the Fender Vibroking with 3×10’s.”

The Robert Cray Stratocaster guitar is a “strong persuader,” providing the sound, sustain and expression Cray is so well known for. Features include an alder body, lightly figured maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets, custom-wound vintage-style Stratocaster pickups, non-tremolo hard-tail bridge and vintage-style gold hardware.
