Bass Guitars 10

Guitars 8

I originally bought it due to it's looks. But, once I read the specs of it, I was impressed. Then I received it and it excelled my expectations in a huge way!!! I think it's a better guitar than my Korean-made 1989 Epi LP Custom (and that one is a more than fine instrument)!

Amplifiers 11

First of all, I bought the 25-watt version (T-25) about 20 years ago in 2002 because I couldn't find this 60-watt version. That amp had served me well for several years and shows (it was used in a few pretty big shows, too - mic'd up, of course) and I still have it and love it. But, just before Covid hit, I finally found a T-60! I'd have to say it sounds a lot like the T-25, just a bit more powerful! But, since I got it about 10 seconds before Covid came around, I never got the chance to play out with it. But, I did loan it out to an old Beatlemania alumni friend of mine, Mitch Weissman for a couple of smaller, local shows and I thought it sounded great and kept up with the drums with no problem! For those of us that are playing in Beatle tribute bands, this thing sounds like what Paul had (his T-60 had a slightly different cab and two speakers - but, the sound is the same). I'm going to mirror what everyone else has been saying for decades - when will Korg/Vox actually make a bass amp that's a little bit bigger and slightly more wattage - even a 100-watt amp would be nice! Their guitar amps are superb - even their low to mid-range amps are very good and can be gigged with no problems. But, this offering from Korg/Vox in 2001 is their closest thing to having a professional bass amp.

Strings 16

These pure nickel strings with a round core are very well made and sound better than most other pure nickel strings I've tried in the past. I have used these strings on my Epiphone Les Paul as well as a Strat copy I have and these strings have made those two student level guitars sound really professional and expensive! I believe their construction is slightly different than most other string manufacturers and it clearly shows. The quality of metals is of a higher quality than what most probably use. Even their plain strings sound and feel better than other manufacturer's strings of similar gauges.

Other Gear 2

I bought a couple of pairs of these headphones from either Guitar Center's site, or Musician's Friend's "Stupid Deal of the Day" a month or so ago. they were less than 40 bucks for the two headphones. so, I decided to try them out for a super low cost. So, when I tried them out during the playback of a recording, I was generally shocked at how bass heavy they are. They definitely are not EQ'd flat. These made it hard for you to hear any treble at all. But, I have used them to listen to music and I think that's where they excel. They feel very well-built and will probably last a while, too. These will definitely not replace your Sennheiser phones at all. But, if you need something inexpensive to listen to music at home from your phone or whatever equipment you use, these will do the trick with no problem.

Tuners 10

I bought mine used when I worked at a big box store in 2010. I paid waaaaaay too much for it (more than other stores in the chain had it for, too)! but, I still used it as my main tuner for many, many years. I still use it as a backup to my modern Peterson pedal tuner, I now have.
I've only had this tuner for a few days now. I had lost my ST-2 and needed a replacement asap. so, I asked my friend that actually works for Evets/Dano and asked him what was the most accurate Snark they sell. he immediately said this one! I love this particular one because you can actually fine-tune it and get it close to perfect, much like a strobe. It's not 100% perfect quite yet (the technology, I mean). it takes a couple of tries to get to work correctly. but, when it does, I feel it's dead on!!!
