The company pivoted to wooden-necked superstrat-style guitars in the early 1980s, quickly becoming synonymous with the hard rock and heavy metal scenes. Equipped with Floyd Rose tremolo systems and Seymour Duncan pickups as standard features, Kramer became the best-selling guitar brand in America in 1985 and 1986, fueled in large part by Eddie Van Halen's high-profile endorsement.
Kramer's most iconic model is the Baretta, a single-humbucker superstrat that helped define the hot-rodded guitar aesthetic of the era. Other notable models include the Pacer, the Focus and Striker budget lines, the Nightswan (Vivian Campbell signature), and the Jersey Star (Richie Sambora signature). The brand's roster of endorsees reads like a who's who of '80s rock: Mick Mars, Vivian Campbell, Richie Sambora, and Paul Dean all played Kramers on stage and in the studio.
