The Best Swiss Army Pedal

Great for filling in that whatever pedal on your board. Amp sims and dirt boxes are just okay, but everything else is amazing! Delays self-osc, modulations and filters are great, even has Univibe and Leslie. Must have for working musician.

Deluxe RAT Clone

A pedal board friendly RAT, Turbo RAT, and SOLO combo. The three way switch selects which version you want. True bypass switching and nice Dist knob, though the Volume and Filter knobs are small and feel cheap. Includes the LM308 Chip like the originals (though I truely don't believe that chip types makes that much of a difference tonewise-see WAMPLERS Chip comparison video). Pretty good RAT clone.

Very Good Effects

This is a great little unit. As with all Zoom Products, the Dirty Boxes and Amp Sims fall a little short, but the effects are great. Good for Comp, Mod, Filter, Synth, Delay, Reverb, and WEIRD!!! Good Drum Machine, Tuner and Looper included. DI out is always a great added touch. If your a Bass Player that wants to start experimenting with the world of effects, this is a great place to start.

A decent, entry level for Bass Effects

Sounds pretty good. The control layouts are terrible and the pedal is way to small (I have US 10-10.5 Shoe Size). I slapped a larger piece of wood on the pedle with 2 cable ties and it fixed the problem. The effects are good to great, but what really makes this shine is the interacting with the expersion pedal. Adjusting parameters like Ring Mod freq is cool using the pedal. I would recomment the Zoom B1Xon over this, but still on okay pedal for newbies. Solid metal constrution.

Great Fuzz

Covers light to Velcro, to saturated fuzz. Chaos switch is a little over the top, but a fun added feature to the origninal model. Check this out if you love FUZZ.

Almost Great

This is a nice combo amp made by Korg. They used some cost cutting measures but the final product comes out pretty nice. No channel switching, but that's okay cause I got a TS in front of it. The gain is pretty hot and anything beyond 12 o'clock with humbuckers gets pretty muddy. The trick is to roll back the gain and jack the volume to get the best tones. Other China made combos like this come with the footswitch included, but Vox charges $40 to switch on the Tremolo and Reverb. Reverb is your average Spring, nothing fancy. Really like the Tremolo, great speed and depth options. I know it's sacrilegious to question the Vox tone controls, but it would bet nice to get a mid control and ditch the Tone Cut.

vox tone controls do NOT need a mid they are interactive and combining them right defines the mid-spike or cut and then extreme treble can be tamed by turning up the cut.... BLASPHEMY!!!!! SACRILEDGE!!!!!

Great Marshall Combo

If you want the Marshall Tone, pass on the thinner sounding DSL15, and grab this guy. Love the option of Pent and Tri for half power. Comes with 2 channels plus reverb and rear effects loop. Plays nicely with pedals and gives clean, crunch and lead Marshall for a lot less than one of their half stacks!!!

Kinda Dated

Yes this thing is cool for infinite 1 string bowing. But it's dated. Fernandez and Sustainiac have made improvements on the "Infinite Guitar" Sound. Neat, but you can get better features elswhere.

bubbajones

completely agree... the Sustainiac I have installed on my Roland G202 far surpasses the ebow.

alf_andrew_pedersen

Agreed. Mine stopped workign all of the sudden, and they are impossible to repair.

Rokkit 8 clone for half the price

These are clones of the KRK R8. There's no such thing as the perfect monitor, but these are some of the best in it's price range. Flat and even, true to the recording. Good addition for beginner-intermediate home recording.

Control your stuff with a Bass

Neat little device that tracks okay. I run the bass direct into this guy then the MIDI to Logic/GB to control instruements. Much fun to be had.

The Perfect Power Supply

Independently isolated, with internal power supply. No walwarts here! 8x9V with 2 SAG channels, 12V AC, 12V DC. I would put it on the same level as Voodoo Labs PP 2+. Great power supply! No noise. I bit oversized though.

Good MIDI controller

This was my first MIDI controller, plug and play with Logic and GB. The transport buttons weren't very user friendly when it came to programming and like alot of M-Audio equipment, there are quality control issues. For the price, it should be better built. Velocity sensitive with aftertouch are some nice features though.

Best MultiFX Rack under $500

Great, classic Lexicon Sounds. I love that this works as an AU with the USB cable so it sucks less memory when I'm running logic. Great for the Studio.

Best Amp Under $500

Matched with with a 1x12" Alnico Blue Weber and it sings. Does the Fender Tone, Vox is pretty close, and with the help of a drive pedal, you can get a Marshall tone. 15 Tube Watts are a little less than I thought, but it's a studio/small club amp. It really shines with the Tweaker switches, a real boutique style amp. If your looking for a small wattage head, this is the best that's out there.

probably has a an udnerspeced output transformer, 15 watts is pretty loud with a good sized OT delivering its full fury.... if you like it that much you could upgrade the transformer, it will improve the output and the dynamics nd depending on your taste you may perceive that it improves the tone, but YMMV

A SVT Deluxe Clone at a much better Price, But won't last more than a year or two.

First Generations were unreliable, this one also blows caps and resistors. Geats that perfect Vintage Ampeg SVT tone. The Infinium Tube Multi is an added bonus and has all the tone/power you could ever want. 1/3 the price of of an Ampeg SVT, but you will have to fix it every year or two and it gets costly. I wish they could have figured this thing out. Perfect Tone, dies all the time.

Boss is coming up in the Amp Sim world

Before, Boss amp sims were a joke. They've really done a good job with this unit. Mine came with the pickup and it really gives you Guitar/Bass/Acoustic/Sitar/Banjo/Synth modeling. Boss does this better than anyone else, including Line 6 guitars. Great for experimenting and individual string tunings...It's weird to hear an alt tuned acoustic come our of my standard tuned strat. Worth checking out. Has some great vintage Boss tones like the OD-1. Has most of the Boss Catalog in one pedal, great bang for the buck!

The first REAL amp modelling that cost less than a Car

This thing sounds great. Amps are great. Effects are great. I use it with the free Edit Software on my Mac and it saves tons of time with moving and tweaking patches. The BAD-it has their defective switches. The break early and often. Line 6 ("Yamaha, I'm looking at you!!!) really needs to fix the major engineering mistake. Other than that, it's a Studio MUST HAVE.

alteredstate

Great for the BodXT

Good footswitch, though be warned: This does have the poorly designed footswitches. They are easy to replace, but they break early and often. Display could be better.

Best for Bass Modeling

I have the Bass Pod XT-Great tones with classic Bass amp models. The effects are very usable, though the synth doesn't track the best (Zoom B3 is the king). I use it with the shortboard for easy patch and effects swich, and the wah. A Studio MUST HAVE.

alteredstate

Best for Beginners

This think is great. Has a decent drum machine and 40 sec looper. Tons of storage and lots of effects. Like most Multieffects units, some fall short, especially in modeling. But this is truely the best bang for the buck. Will probably upgrade to B3 for more options. If your a bassist thinking about trying effects, you can't go wrong with this!
