About
Gamma is an American rock band formed in 1979 by legendary guitarist Ronnie Montrose, known for his influential work in the hard rock scene. Originating from California, the band brought together Montrose with Davey Pattison (vocals), Jim Alcivar (keyboards), Alan Fitzgerald (bass), and Skip Gillette (drums), who was later replaced by Denny Carmassi. Gamma's sound is a dynamic blend of arena rock and AOR (Album-Oriented Rock), characterized by soaring guitar solos, compelling vocals, and synthesizer-driven melodies. The band's debut album, Gamma 1, marked the beginning of their exploration into more ambitious and experimental rock territories.
