Ride is an English band that emerged from Oxford in 1988, celebrated for their pioneering role in the shoegaze movement. The group originally consisted of Mark Gardener (vocals, guitar), Andy Bell (guitar, vocals), Steve Queralt (bass), and Laurence "Loz" Colbert (drums). While their early work was characterized by the swirling, ethereal textures typical of shoegaze, they have also explored genres like neo-psychedelia, noise pop, and Britpop.
