So im looking to emulate the tones he had on unkown pleasures, ive seen people have trouble getting it right so im asking hear first, i feel like this a tone jim likes just a feeling, but i know sg was his go to but im not sure amp wise or pedals if he even used them it almost sounds to me like he's running straight into amp and all the tone is his hands, eq on the amop and controls on the guitar.

the brands called Custom 77 and i think the model is the T-Sonic, if i remember Lee Ronaldo helped in the design and manufacturing of this and some of their other models.

Whats up with all the non musician profiles
i've been seeing a lot more non musicians showing up especially youtubers, and a few athletes. Idk what the communities thoughts are on this but it just seems weird to me since i always saw this sight as a hub for musicians and bassists to bounce ideas off each other, ask questions and check out peoples gear.
im just on not sure how i feel about seeing a youtuber who has shown their audio interface and mic set up or a picture on their instagram with a guitar getting a profile

have to agree with gchiaren, i love my ocd the low peak with drive around 9 o clock gives it just a little bite and thicken up my sound, i really like my vox bulldog "valve" pedal, it hase a valbe in it but it has a really trebly vintage distortion and gives a good dirty clean lead sound

i prefer the double cut or no cut for semi hollows but that guitar is absolutely stunning the only gibson ive ever played was a lp special with p90's so i cant talk to how it feels

Anyone here have/used extensively a silverface Princeton, been seeing them around 6-700 bucks and im thinking about picking one up as a garage/bedroom double duty amp, how loud do they get compared to the drri or ac15??

i was planning in if i paid for it taking it to guitar center for the install... jk if i did i would take it to chicago music exchange and have one of their pros do it if the lead time isnt too bad
i didnt realize how difficult an install is until i looked into it so ill definitly be having a pro do it if i do so there goes about 350 dollars if i do it. i trust cme tho since all their staff are full time pros and there shop in the basement does a ton of restoring and modding.

I was just curious how hard installing a bigsby on a tele is, im between getting a tele or mustang and if i do a tele i plan on slapping a bigsby on it, i feel like i can do it since it wont require any solding, if anything tho ill have my local shop do it and give it a good set up

Strymon Bluesky vs Walrus descent
i would have said big sky, of the two you put id say descent tho its a realy cool and unique pedal but both you put are very very good pedals

i was playing my friends peavy and i wasnt a fan of the horn, im definitly not a slap player im either using finger or if im playing something like punk or garage rock i use a pick for a little bit of attack, but im definitly gonna look at class d heads now, have you played the pf 350 or 500 i want to try them, id imagine i could get the stack for 500 used and what about orange bass amps ive been seeing them a bit more now that ive started looking at bass rigs

i did one about a pedal board set up i think but i dont recal amp i know you had given a few like the 70's bassman head

i also looke up the visitor center and its been closed for the forseable future guess thar guitar center deal didnt go as planned...
9yalmost 9 years ago
id say normans rare guitars but a lot of their stuff will cost a pretty penny, the hollywood guitar center would also be a good visit and if you can check out fenders visitor center and get a tour ive always wanted to go there.
9yalmost 9 years ago
id check guitar centers website and reverb, with guitar center you usually have a 2 weeks or a month to send it back
9yalmost 9 years ago
also pickups are another key do you want active or passive theyll make a big differencre and will cost a bit more if you want them

the squier jim root and john 5 tele's can be found on the cheap used and those guitar are budget beasts, epiphone g-400 is a good sg copy. if you want something a bit more shred oriented if say ibanez rg series or the jackson rhoads rrxt they are around 550 new but used are 250-325

the d'angelico are as versatile as any 335, they just look the part for jazz
9yalmost 9 years ago
of those two id say the d'angelico, but jims yamaha is a really good option, and you'd have something thatll retain value better being a "vintage" guitar that's pretty popular, the guy from god is an astronaut plays a vintage yamaha

the left is a p bass, and the center is a guild s60-d and the right looks like an HSS stratocaster clone
