Creamware Audio GmbH (often stylized as creamw@re) is a German audio technology company based in Siegburg, founded in 1992. The company built its reputation on DSP-based platforms, most notably the Scope DSP cards and the Pulsar and Pulsar II PCI systems, which allowed users to run modular synths, effects, and mixers in a software environment powered by dedicated DSP hardware.
In the mid-2000s Creamware leveraged that DSP platform to release the ASB (Authentic Sound Box) line of tabletop hardware synthesizers, each modeling a classic instrument. The range included the Minimax ASB (a Minimoog emulation), the Pro-12 ASB (modeled on the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5), the Prodyssey ASB (based on the ARP Odyssey), and the B4000 ASB organ module. The company also produced the Noah synthesizer, the Modular III system, and the Elektra module, alongside earlier broadcast-oriented digital audio workstation products such as TripleDAT and CutMaster.
Creamware is remembered in the synth community for bringing DSP-based emulation of vintage analog instruments into dedicated hardware boxes at a time when most virtual-analog emulation was confined to plug-ins. The Scope platform and several of the ASB designs were later continued by Sonic Core, a German company formed by former Creamware engineers.
