Roger Linn Design is a small electronic instrument company based in Los Altos, California, founded by Roger Linn, the engineer behind several landmark music production tools. Linn first made his mark with the LM-1 Drum Computer in 1979 — widely credited as the first programmable drum machine to use sampled sounds — and went on to design the LinnDrum and the Akai MPC60, instruments that helped define the sound of pop and hip-hop production. He received a Technical Grammy Merit Award in 2011 for his contributions to music technology.

The company's current focus is the LinnStrument, an expressive MIDI performance controller with a grid of touch-sensitive pads that respond to five dimensions of finger movement: striking velocity, lateral pressure, vertical pressure, and X/Y position. The instrument is offered in a full-size 200-pad version and a smaller LinnStrument 128. Earlier product lines from the company included the AdrenaLinn series of beat-synced guitar effects processors, released between 2002 and 2007, and the Tempest analog drum machine, co-designed with Dave Smith Instruments and released in 2011.

Manufacturing is handled by Leemah Electronics in Brisbane, California, and the LinnStrument is sold direct through the company's online store as well as through select retailers. The instrument has found particular traction among players exploring MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) workflows in software synthesizers and modern hardware.
