Roswell Pro Audio is a microphone manufacturer based in Sebastopol, California, founded by Matthew McGlynn. McGlynn came to microphone building through a pair of earlier projects — RecordingHacks.com, an exhaustive reference database cataloging microphones, and MicParts.com, which supplies capsules, transformers, and upgrade kits for DIY mic builders. Roswell grew out of that research, offering finished microphones built around the same bespoke large-diaphragm capsules developed for MicParts.

The lineup spans an affordable Mini series (including the Mini K47, Mini K87, and Mini K67x large-diaphragm condensers) and higher-end boutique models such as the Colares vocal microphone and the Aztec tube mic. Other catalog items include the Cab Mic designed for guitar amplifiers, the KD kick-drum mic, and the RM8 room microphone. Mics are assembled in small batches with hand-soldered, point-to-point input circuits and burned in before shipping.

Roswell sells direct-to-consumer rather than through traditional retail, and the company has picked up endorsements from engineers and players including Greg Wells, Ross Hogarth, Tim Pierce, David Grissom, and Devin Townsend. Separately, there is an unrelated company called Roswell Pickups (part of WSC Music, tied to the Harley Benton parts supply chain) that makes guitar and bass pickups — the two brands share a name but have no corporate connection.

Roswell has 14 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Condenser Microphones and Guitar Amplifier Heads. Their gear is featured by 4 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Electronic, and Metal. Notable users include Josh Scogin, Tim Pierce, and Glenn Fricker.
