Founded in 2014 in Shenzhen, China by husband-and-wife team Nancy Lee and Fischer Mao, Xvive Audio began with a mission to revive the legendary MN3005 bucket brigade chip — the component at the heart of classic analog delay pedals like the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. Working with original Memory Man designer Howard Davis and German guitarist Thomas Blug, Xvive released the W3 Memory Analog Delay, which paired two of their newly manufactured MN3005 chips with Davis's circuit design.
The company's trajectory shifted dramatically in 2016 with the launch of the U2 Guitar Wireless System, a compact, affordable 5.8 GHz plug-and-play wireless unit that became an international hit and established Xvive as a major player in the wireless audio space. The product line has since expanded to include wireless systems for microphones (U3, U3C), in-ear monitors (U4, U45), acoustic guitar (U8), saxophone and trumpet (U7), violin (U9), and audio-for-video applications (U5, U6). Beyond wireless, Xvive produces the T9 In-Ear Monitors, the PX Portable Personal Mixer, the More You recording interface, the XV1-R portable stereo recorder, effect pedals, and the MN3005 and MN3007 bucket brigade chips and optocouplers used by other pedal builders.
Xvive also serves as an OEM manufacturer for several American music gear brands. Their design team spans Europe, North America, and Asia, and the company holds multiple wireless technology patents. Artists who use Xvive gear include bassist Doug Wimbish, guitarist Rudy Sarzo, producer Sylvia Massy, guitarist Brad Gillis, and guitarist Tom Quayle, among others.
Xvive Audio has 38 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Overdrive Effects Pedals, Delay Effects Pedals, and Pedal Tuners. Their gear is featured by 15 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Metal, and Electronic. Notable users include Tyler Larson, Jared Dines, and Roman Miroshnichenko.
