4:56 - This is where you get a first-hand look of Syu's pedalboard that was used in 2015. Along with his Orange amplifier's in-built crunch channel, he uses the SD-1 as a light boost to push the amp's gain for a high-gain tone.

Taken during a special clinic with Yukhi, he used this rig to play a selection of his solo compositions.

In a Young Guitar gear talk video footage, Syu provides a detailed explanation of three of his signature guitars - an ESP Crying Star REBEL Kai, an ESP Crying V (maple neck prototype), and an ESP Crying Star Phoenix.

In the 2010 gear rundown of Syu's rig, he has mentioned that, in conjunction with the Boss GT-10, he used the Core Blade series amplifier by Hughes & Kettner. The rig rundown was taken from a Young Guitar Lesson DVD, where Syu demonstrated how to play intricate guitar parts from Galneryus' album "Resurrection."

In this video, Syu plays through the compositions from his new solo album, "You Play Hard." His primary guitar, the ESP Crying Star, has been modded with different Seymour Duncan pickups - he now uses a 59/Custom hybrid in the bridge, which is explained at 17:12.

His solo compositions have been written as of means to challenge other guitarists to play intricate parts, all the while utilizing neo-classical elements into his compositions.

At a 2015 NAMM Convention, in addition to the ESP Crying Star Classic Vetelgyus, Syu was also seen using an ESP E-II Arrow, equipped with EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose bridge. The guitar can be more clearly seen at 0:10.

Standard model out of the ESP Crying Star series guitars, the prototype model came with Seymour Duncan passive pickups. The release version has an EMG pickup in the neck with the Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.

In this 4-part video series, Syu demonstrates Positive Grid's BIAS AMP, as well as how it can be integrated into the BIAS Head which can be used with a cabinet. Syu mentions in 0:58 that the midrange of the amp is well-defined and that the amp easily modulates the sounds of Fender Twin Reverb and Marshall's clean channels.

In this video, Syu demos 8 different Marshall Guv'nor overdrive pedals to see which of them performs the best clean boost possible for his personal taste. At 0:15, we can see that eight Guv'nor overdrive pedals are hooked up onto a looper system. Throughout the demo, Syu switches between each of them at a time as he plays an identical riff, so that he can try to distinguish differences between the same overdrive pedals.

At the end of the demo, he opts to go with the 3rd Guv'nor Overdrive.

1:19 - 2:26 - "I used this guitar in the songs Fall in the Dark and United Blood. I also used a seven string guitar for an album called The Fifth Reincarnation. And right before the tour, the guitar was made. At first the guitar was painted gold, but I had it repainted as you see now. I also had some of the body cut around the higher frets for easier access to the higher frets."

Most likely Syu's second 7-string guitar to be used during his career in Galneryus, Syu debuted this guitar in albums "The Fifth Reincarnation" and "Resurrection."
