I'm not at all a harmonica expert.

Had this laying around, the guys get a kick out of my crappy pianoman impression.

Bass fuzz done perfectly.

After a slight bit of dissatisfaction with my reissue Green Russian Big Muff, I decided to pull the trigger on this thing. What a good idea that was. The people at Wren and Cuff really understand that making a good bass distortion isn't simply about letting low-end through and that it is equally about how well the effect is able to handle the low fundamental as well. I'm pretty speechless, this thing is flawless as far as I can tell. The top end of the pedal is much smoother and creamier than a standard EHX muff and makes the sound so pleasing to the ear. Skip the old Russian muffs, and the new one. Get this.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Sustain on max ofc

The sound is good but there's some design flaws with it.

The volume can be really inconsistent because of the mix channel's mid scoop. But it's a good sound.

Sounds pretty good, wouldn't buy again knowing I could save up for something better

It's a good sounding pedal for a nice bass fuzz. But I find it just doesn't really stack up to something like a Wayhuge Russian pickle or even the Wren and Cuff PIckle Pie B. I like the amount of volume it has though, can really rip your face off. Not any good for a synth bass sound really, more aggressive fuzz.

Mine was a bad apple

I bought a used version of this bass for 310 at GC. It played very well to begin with. Something fatal that I wish I realized at the store is that someone filed the nut way too low to the fingerboard. Perhaps to get more "Mwah" but it ended up killing the sustain of the bass. I couldn't even get a full bar of a sustained whole note for a ballad. With this in mind, I decided to adjust the bass a little bit as much as possible to get it to sustain more. It ended up working a little. Anyway, I decided to change the strings to DR sunbeams to hopefully help smooth the experience thanks to the lower tension. I was halfway done with the A string when the tuning peg stopped turning. Classic issue with cheaper basses, the tuners eat themselves. The cost to repair the bass to a good state would cost as much as buying the bass a second time. So I returned it to GC, and am out 20 bucks on account of strings that can't be used on my basses with different headstocks.

Finally found the one that works for me.

After going through a variety of different bass overdrives, (B3k, VMT, Tech 21 DP-3x, Ibanez TS9B) I think I have found the one to give me my sound. I prefer multi-band distortion to a blend as I don't want the bottom end to get distorted too much. (Nor do I like hearing the clean top end in the sound) This knocks that job out of the park and then some. The range is really impressive too. You can get just the top end for like a Kings X sound or dial the HPF a little lower in the midrange so you get a little bit of a fuzzier Ampeg type sound when needed. Only downside is that the two small HPF and LPF knobs are basically impossible to see. But this sounds so good that it's worth the struggle.

Used these when I had a fretless.

These are the best strings you can get for a fretless bass. I don't own a fretless anymore. But if I did, it would be these again. They give you enough brightness for rock/metal whilst being easier on the fingerboard and your hands vs standard steel rounds like Rotos. Maybe they still eat through the fretboard a tiny bit over time, but it's so marginal compared to something like Rotosounds. (See Tony Franklin's old number P-bass that had Rotos on it vs his newer basses).

Great so far

They have a really awesome sound out of the pack. Sounds like a grand piano. I accidentally cut the A string too short on my Warwick so it only wraps around about 75% of where it should be. But it seems to work ok.

Simple bass pedals

They are built really well and work as they should. I use it with the Behringer Toro and get really good results doing that. (Worked great as soon as I plugged into it.) But I'm taking off a star because they are very expensive and don't have a power switch whilst emitting a blue light out of the back.

emuemulator2

It's pretty good.

The build quality is great. I use it to send notes to my Behringer Toro. Downsides are that there are only 10 footswitches so I can't play every single note on 1 bank. But I can use the other banks for different keys and stuff. The switches are also a little close together for my tastes. (I wear size 12 shoes for reference Your mileage may vary.)

Shows signs of fragility after a year.

I really beat the crap out of the bass so this might just be a me problem but I have broken the pickup mounting screw from wailing on this thing over time. Probably going to get it fixed and then sell it. Decent Spector-like tone however.

Cheap pedal power

Not very noisy, powerful. That's all I have to say lalalalalalalalalllala

emuemulator2

Doesn't work on my warwick bass.

The nut thing is too girthy for the tuner hole.

emuemulator2

The greatest wah pedal of all time.

This thing is the best wah sound ever. The range is from -2 octave to 20 KHZ. So it will work with absolutely any instrument and with authority. The downsides are that it is huge, and the built in power supply is extremely noisy. I had to part ways with mine as I need working musician tools, but this would be awesome in the studio. These are almost 50 years old but you can still find them working just as new. If you can afford one, get it.

Avoid this unless you want a wall a farts

I bought this like a year ago to get a Cliff Burton bass tone, and it does that. Unfortunately, nothing else. The mix knob and bass/treble knobs don't even work to my ear. Keeps the low-end though. But very dissapointing. I'm giving it a 3 because the build quality is amazing. But it's a no on this one.

emuemulator2

It's a good clean DI

It's okay, distortion channel isn't great but it's a good option for a DI to FOH paired with something else for gain.

emuemulator2

basic patch cables dude

so basically whenever you play electric guitar you have to use something called a cable, these are magic devices that transmit the sound of your guitar magically into the amplifier.

emuemulator2

Great but a little annoying with active instruments

Because my bass is active when I unplug the bass even with the tuner on, you still get a little pop. Not as loud as with it off but its there a little bit. Not a fault of the unit, but annoying nonetheless. Still, it's a durable tuner and it's not that big of a deal as if you were to be tuning the thing at stage volume ;).

emuemulator2

Simple interface to learn stuff with

Good, high quality interface. Easy to use. Just not durable at all but it is what it is.

emuemulator2

fun little unit, but cab sim and amp emulation aren't great.

It's okay I guess. Used this mainly for the onboard modulation effects to see what I liked.
