Ibanez TS9B Bass Tube Screamer Pedal Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Ibanez TS9B Bass Tube Screamer impresses with its ability to deliver dynamic, well-defined overdrive tones tailored for bassists craving more attitude. It features intuitive controls, including separate EQ and mix knobs for versatile tonal shaping. The pedal excels in responsiveness, especially to different playing techniques, from fingerstyle to aggressive picking, delivering a satisfying growl without compressing the tone too much. While it might not suit extreme metal due to limited distortion, it provides a rich, multi-dimensional sound, making it an excellent choice for rock bass lines. However, those seeking high-gain distortion might need to look elsewhere. Overall, this pedal is a solid investment for bassists seeking a robust, dynamic overdrive.

Avoid this unless you want a wall a farts

I bought this like a year ago to get a Cliff Burton bass tone, and it does that. Unfortunately, nothing else. The mix knob and bass/treble knobs don't even work to my ear. Keeps the low-end though. But very dissapointing. I'm giving it a 3 because the build quality is amazing. But it's a no on this one.

Heavy

Gives you a heavy grinding overdrive, and you can push the distortion to extreme, what I like is you can tweak it in increments to your liking.
